2010 Epilogue
When I woke up today, the first thing that came to my mind was, OH MY WORLD! I SURVIVED THROUGH 2010. The second thing that I realized was the fact that I’ve spent the last six months, since Enlistment, cursing the living daylight out of this country. In the military, I see the first attempt [...]
Don’t stop making rainbows.
I like to entertain the thoughts about how my life would have been IF THIS HAPPENED or IF THAT HAPPENED. I’m curious about the alternate parallel universe. The second and more exciting version, and I would like to think. I seldom regret on decisions I make on superficial and inanimate objects. But my decisions affecting [...]
Christmas 2010
I’m spending Christmas this year in camp. Its a happy holiday so I shall not whine. Just thought I could share Farhan’s Facebook status because I literally couldn’t stop laughing. “As I walked passed the bakery shop: Auntie: lai lai lokek lai… Kissmast… Lai lai lokek lai. In Malay, ‘lokek’ = stingy. In her Singlish, [...]
Getting the festive.
This post was in my phone draft for an obscene period of time. I typed it during my BMT time, but didn’t quite manage to complete writing. And I’ve forgotton what I wanted to say further… “I began this week falling sick for two consecutive days, and decided to forego my last chance to get [...]
Our wishes on a ball.
Faiz suggested to meet up with Sri and I, so we hung out at the city center. We did a little shopping and more window shopping around Marina Square. I was largely looking for new high cut shoes to replace my current Converse. While surveying Marina Square, we walked past this station where there was [...]
Daily Occurance
So, my Course Platoon Sergeant was all panicky and trying to enlist the help of the platoon to design a cover for our Daily Occurrence Book. I volunteered. Because that is what I love to do. Anyway, the word “Occurance” is spelled wrongly in this presentation. I rectified on the final artwork.
Command and Control
Because my camp here in Stagmont is pretty small, I’m feeling trapped and confined in this area. Coupled with the same routine day and night, I’m exhausted. I think I’m not adapting too well to the monotomy and mundane way of life. I have this in-camp alter ego. I don’t talk or laught or joke [...]
3 years flew.
About this time three years ago, I began work at Escape Theme Park. Although the first two weeks were pretty rough and I almost wanted to quit, little did I know that the next two years were fantastic and most rewarding. When I was at Choa Chu Kang bus interchange yesterday, memories came flooding back [...]
This is why I said baby boys are much more adorable.
“It’s my first birthday, and ITS ELMO! I’m going to plunge my face in it. Watch it, guys!” “Seriously. It’s my FIRST birthday. Sing that birthday song louder. LOUDDDER!” “Mommy, a knife? I would work better if I’d used my shoes!” “Guys, this is how you should be if you want many presents. Just sit [...]
We need to lose before we appreciate.
Should have known better than to expect too much from the Army. This morning didn’t start as I would expect to. I know leaving home for camp is not new to me anymore, but I have never been great adapting to changes since young. I hate to lose the sense of belonging, security and familarity. [...]
